Can Big Bone Fever Catch On
By: Don Clare

It's official! Donations to the FOBB are now tax deductible. And please tell a friend! The process and quest for 501c-3 nonprofit status was particularly time consuming, intense, frustrating, and meticulous. Had it not been for one gracious individual, Rob Ziegler of Ziegler and Schneider PSC Law Firm, to help with the IRS application process, I think we would still be "lost at sea," bobbing up and down trying to keep our heads above water.

Originally we attempted this application process ourselves, but soon realized our limitations. Rob graciously came to our rescue as we were "circling the drain." Rob is a member and officer of the Boone County Businessmen's Association, a group which long ago endorsed and supported the origination of the FOBB in its embryonic stages. Rob is dedicated to the mission of FOBB, and without his able and expert assistance, we would still be struggling through our applications process. Thank you, Rob, from all of us!

We have now reached a point in the organization's life in which we must concentrate on fundraising - serious fundraising! If we want to see a state-of-the-art museum and research center, then we need to seriously think and plan fundraising projects and events. We can't sit back and wait, thinking the state will build it. It's going to take local fundraising to see this through.
